He also serves as Managing Director of The Prowers Group, a business consulting firm focused on strategy, operations, leadership development, and sustainable growth.

Mr. Verhoeff currently serves on the Fountain City Council, Colorado where he is known for his direct communication style, accessibility to residents, and focus on core priorities such as infrastructure, public safety, fiscal responsibility, and long-term planning.

The Honorable Stan VanderWerf is a seasoned program director with over 40 years of professional experience running companies, local governments, and federal programs. He served 28 years commanding or directing billion dollar US Air Force programs including the C-130, electronic warfare, avionics, and ground based GPS programs. Other tours included Special Operations (executive officer to the Acquisition Executive), Pentagon (budgets), Schriever Space Force Base (system test director), NORAD/NORTHCOM (chief analyst), Germany (technical intelligence), Korea (DCMA Commander), and Iraq (foreign military sales to Iraq’s Defense Ministry). Stan delivered successful R&D, procurement, sustainment, contract compliance, and operational support in very challenging environments.

Stan was elected as an El Paso County Commissioner serving 8 years running complex infrastructure projects and community engagement in politically charged environments. In running the largest Colorado county, Stan improved infrastructure, increased services, solved retirement fund shortfalls, increased emergency cash reserves, improved the County’s bond rating, and built extensive public/private relationships without raising taxes.

He founded several companies including a consulting firm, 3-D Printing company, and UAS Colorado, a business league serving Colorado’s unmanned aircraft industry. He serves today on many public and private boards.

Stan holds masters degrees in national resource strategies and international relations and an undergraduate degree from Purdue in industrial engineering. A Colorado Springs resident, Stan is married with two children, and is a skier, mountaineer, and commercial pilot.
